HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

“It's good to get home when you've been away, which I sometimes wonder is the purpose of going away at all. Travel energises the mind and lets you experience wonderful new things; but then you get home and realise that your tiny little corner of this big wide earth is the one you love most of all, and are happiest in.”

I do love an English garden. This winter we are putting in a new bed and I’m gathering inspiration. It will be a mix of perennials and annuals as we have such heat to contend with. Finding hardy plants and flowers that thrive in those conditions is an absolute necessity. Luckily we know which ones tolerate the heat and humidity best. That being said, sometimes gardening seems to have a mind of it’s own. We planted Angelonia and Creeping jenny in pots outside our door again this year because last year…FANTASTIC! This year….no blooms on the Angelonia. I’ve no clue why. Next year we’ll decide whether or not to try again or try something new. The joys of gardening! Full of possibilites…..

FLOWERS

“I grow plants for many reasons: to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow.” David Hobson

I walk in my garden every morning and every evening. I love the beauty, checking on plant growth, cutting flowers to bring inside, listening to the birds, breathing in the quiet air and feeling the peace of being surrounded by so much life. Flowers are infinitely inspirational to me. The photographs below are graciously shared by Devanath, Inspired Images, Coltsfan and Aziz Archarki. A big thank you for allowing me to further share the beauty that you all captured!
