I cannot believe it is August!! It has certainly been a strange summer for everyone and a sense of time is thrown all off balance. Here in Louisiana we are settling into our hottest weather of the year. The light has changed….a reminder that cooler days will come. Probably not until October, but they will come. I love Ankara in moss/blush because it’s such a lovely design for both summer and fall. It’s a lively floral yet the colors are neutral and calm. This is a pillow that is at home in both a living room or a bedroom. Relaxed living is what Paprika Home is all about!
Mara mist
Who says neutral colors mean beige? Mara mist is perfectly suited to play the role of neutral with deeper tones of color. Pale blues to deep indigo, seafoam greens, pea green, chartruese, plum, rose and yes, even tones of beige work beautifully with this gem. What will you mix it with??
THE COLOR BEIGE
Neutrals are soothing and peaceful. I’ve always been drawn to this color palette and to the textures. Recently I’ve begun to incorporate more neutral tones in my home, which is a big deal for someone who has always surrounded herself with color (and lots of it!) I’m having fun with it and enjoying the mix. What colors do you decorate with?

OCHRE
Hard to believe that Fall is really on it’s way! But it’s true. The light has shifted and I find myself drawn to earthy colors that are both grounding and cozy. Colors like ochre, buttery yellow, mustard, amber, beiges that give off a warm glow like our fabrics in the collage. Today I read that the Farmer’s Almanac predicts a very, very cold and long winter. Hmm…guess we’ll have to wait and see. While we tend to have mild winters in Louisiana, anyone from here knows “ that bone-chilling” cold we sometimes have. The kind that makes you want to hunker down indoors with a good book and a steaming cup of tea…I do love all things Fall though, so bring it on!
